Griffith College Photography proudly showcases the work of 13 emerging photographers, who have completed the BA in Photographic Media. The class of 2020 has shown initiative, the ability to work under pressure and deal with any unexpected turn of events.
We celebrate the creativity of our final year students in their diverse explorations of photography as a visual medium. The work produced encompasses a broad range of conceptual and practical approaches to the chosen creative narratives. The photographic practices represented range from; self-participatory, socially-engaged practices, documentary photography, the personal archive, and both found and constructed narratives. Thought provoking themes seen include; gender, identity, sexual harassment, cultural identity, the transience of place, education and fantasy.
This multi-award-winning programme offers students the chance to build a strong creative and technical photographic practice with sound theoretical understanding to develop their visual style.
Skills are acquired in a variety of photographic processes, technologies and multiple genres are explored while maintaining an understanding of the commercial aspects of the industry.
We provide a stimulating learning environment; students are guided through critique sessions and practical workshops by experienced tutors and benefit from their work and accolades being published online. Our wonderful graduates’ complete the programme with a myriad of tangible assets including; self-published books, a website, exhibition experience, a business plan, and the ability and confidence to pitch concepts and present to an audience; all of which provide an excellent springboard for their careers. The accumulation of three years hard work has led the class of 2020 to here; we hope you enjoy the immense quality and diversity of the work and take the time to browse through the individual photographers’ websites to view their online portfolios.
